SpeedGrade DI 2007: The
Complete Film Finishing Solution
SpeedGrade DI 2007 is a real-time color grading application offering
primary and secondary grading, conform, effects and a full set of film
finishing tools. SpeedGrade DI uses IRIDAS' innovative non-destructive
grading technology: all grading data - including masks, dissolves, and
more - is saved, edited, compared, and re-applied without altering the
source material. All color adjustments are applied in floating-point
which means no loss of bit-depth and exceptional color-accuracy in the
final render.
SpeedGrade DI is the only film finishing application to run on the
Windows, Mac OS X and Linux platforms.
What’s New in 2007
SpeedGrade DI 2007 offers a raft of new features and enhancements
including the new DualStream stereoscopic module and real-time RAW
support for live playback and grading of RAW files which offer better
image quality at one third the size of standard RGB formats.
More New Features
• Significantly enhanced conform tools for fast and flexible import of
EDLs
• Refined secondaries grading panel offers blur and greater precision in
the color selector
• New FX shaders for complex looks including Technicolor 2-Strip,
Technicolor 3-Strip, day-for-night, and others
• Support with full mapping for Tangent CP200 control panels
• ARRI defect map support for film scans and film restoration work
• nVidia QuadroFX 5600 GPU support allows for a greater number of
simultaneous operations in real time
• Improved rendering of final outputs for faster turnaround times

SpeedGrade DI 2007 offers more powerful conform
tools which simplify EDL imports and allow for easy comparison of takes.
Put the Pieces Together with Conform
SpeedGrade DI 2007 loads Edit Decision Lists (EDLs) and conforms
them automatically on the timeline. SpeedGrade references time codes,
frame numbers, or frame indices in the Reels browser for instant access
to all your material. Full Bit-Depth Rendering
Until final rendering, everything is editable: grades, dissolves, masks,
pan & scan are only baked in at the end. When the work is done,
SpeedGrade DI provides both CPU and GPU-based rendering at the full
color-depth of the input image: 10-bit log, 16-bit and even floating
point.

FX come standard: SpeedGrade DI 2007 ships with a long
list of FX shaders such as bleach bypass or
Technicolor 2-strip and 3-strip looks.
Prepare for Every Outcome: Pan & Scan
Media today needs to be repackaged for a variety of output formats and
presentation technologies. Now DI artists can plan for that right from
the start. SpeedGrade DI's pan & scan tools make it easy to fine-tune
content and save any number of version scripts without having to render
a single frame. Create a film-out master, an HD broadcast release
version, a standard TV version, and more.

Communicate color: SpeedGrade DI supports the IRIDAS
.Look format so creative looks can be shared with anyone
at any stage of a project. .Look files can be applied in FrameCycler for
graded playback and exported as LUTs
for other applications.
Collaborate Anywhere
SpeedGrade DI includes
ReviewLink, IRIDAS' remote review technology.
SpeedGrade DI can host interactive review sessions with other SpeedGrade
or FrameCycler real-time playback applications over the internet via a
standard VPN connection. Drawing and annotation tools provide real-time
communications between locations.

Add accents with masks: use the mask widget to create and any shape
of mask and animate with SpeedGrade’s intuitive keyframing tools.
Do it Your Way
No two colorists work the same. SpeedGrade DI 2007 offers perhaps the
most flexible grading and finishing solution on the market including a
customizable interface, custom mapping for the modular Tangent CP200
control panel series, and numerous display options including SDI-Out via
the nVidia SDI graphics card.
On top of that, SpeedGrade DI 2007 reads and writes virtually everything:
colorists can work in any format at any resolution or bit-depth, without
requiring conversions or proxies.
